Shepherd Boy from Appenzell
80x80 cm, acrylic, oil on canvas "Shepherd boy from Appenzell" is another painting from the series "Children of the World". Appenzell is a canton in Switzerland where very tasty cheese is made. Every spring, locals send their cows and goats to the Alps to bring them back to the warm valleys in September. And children actively help adults. It was exactly this moment that I captured in the picture. It's spring. An Appenzell boy in traditional costume drives goats to the mountains. He is in a great mood, cheerful and happy! The goat is watching the boy attentively and ringing its bell. If you look at the shepherd's jacket, you will notice that it is decorated with embroidered edelweiss flowers - a symbol of Switzerland listed in the Red Book. I tried to realistically recreate the Appenzell children's costume down to the smallest detail. The painting is painted in the style of modern impressionism and can be hung on the wall immediately. The edges of the picture are painted with dark paint.
