In Love Girl from the Solomon Islands
80x80 cm, acrylic and oil paints on canvas Here we see a little girl from the Solomon Islands in national dress - a loincloth made of grass and homemade beads. She is looking into the distance and her still very childish face reflects a whole storm of emotions. Even her beloved parrot cannot bring her out of this reverie. "Fell in love!" That's what I called this painting from the "Children of the World" series. The inhabitants of the Solomon Islands have one unique feature that is not observed anywhere else in the world. With very dark skin, they have very light hair! How did this happen? Geneticists have solved this problem. It turned out that all the fair-haired islanders have the same ancestor, who had a mutation in the gene responsible for hair color. It is noteworthy that this is not the same gene that makes Europeans blonde. The painting is equipped with hooks and is ready to hang on the wall. The sides are painted, so a frame is not necessary. The painting is painted in a mixed style, combining impressionism and expressionism.
